The 2004-2009 Act to End Hunger was designed to provide a common resource, a common language and a common agenda for collective advocacy and action against hunger. It was a tool to help us work together and make a concrete difference.

The plan provided a menu of actions for Oregon's leaders and those in various sectors of the state. It provides multiple answers to the question, what can we do to eliminate hunger?

Four Main Goals - 40 Recommended Actions

Family Economic Stability

For most hungry Oregonians, hunger is an income issue.

Community Food Security

Community food security envisions a regionally-based food system.

Federal Food Programs

Programs such as SNAP (food stamps) provide vital, ongoing support for thousands of lowincome families.

Emergency Food Services

Emergency food services were designed to provide short-term support for specific, immediate emergencies.
