The Oregon Hunger Relief Task Force was created by the State Legislature in 1989 to collaborate with state agencies, businesses, non-profit organizations, public officials and local communities to end hunger in Oregon. We invite you to learn more about us , our partners, and our mission.

Oregon's Poverty Rating improves slightly
Oregonians will gather in Salem October 6-8 for the 2008 Conference: Creating Opportunities to Thrive. The conference will engage participants in taking action on behalf of vulnerable Oregonians.   More
New data released in August by the U.S. Census Bureau show Oregon's poverty rate dropped from 13.2% in 2000 to 12.9% in 2007. However, the percent of Oregonians without health insurance rose to 17.3%.   More

OHRTF prepares for 2009 Legislative Session
Every five years congress reauthorizes federal child nutrition programs. 2009 will be an important year to improve school lunches, summer meals for kids, after-school snack programs, WIC, and more
The Oregon Hunger Relief Task Force has developed a 2009 legislative agenda. Key public policy priorities in 2009 will support family economic stability and help Oregon communities thrive.
