All households will see SNAP benefits reduced as ARRA boost expires.
Why are SNAP (food stamp) benefits going down?
On November 1, all Oregonians receiving SNAP (formerly know as food stamps) will receive a reduction in their benefits. This reduction is due to the expiration of additional SNAP funding provided in the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009. In Oregon this means that more than 800,000 families with children, seniors, and workers will have fewer resources each month to spend on food in our local economies.
