Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon works with the Department of Human Services and other partners on a statewide SNAP outreach campaign to increase participation. The SNAP Outreach Committee helps identify barriers and solutions, develop new ideas, and measure progress. Through these efforts, participation has increased and now reaches over 70% of Oregonians who are eligible.
Reaching out to the Community
Start your own SNAP outreach workgroup. A number of outreach materials have been developed to help publicize SNAP, including a Food Stamp Outreach Guide. Some materials are targeted to specific populations, including families, seniors, people with disabilities, college students, immigrants, single adults, and those who speak different languages.
